![]() ![]() The theme of the Downtown Ministerium's second annual Vacation Bible School program was "Growing with God." Each morning the children in kindergarten through sixth grade and their camp counselors (youths in grade 7-12) explored what it means to grow with God through Scripture, music, crafts, and stories. They enjoyed lunch by turn at the several downtown churches, and in the afternoons enjoyed excursions throughout the downtown community. The concluding day of Camp Downtown found the 60+ campers enjoying a pizza and watermelon lunch at Smithfield Church after which they headed for Station Square and a JustDucky view of the city's downtown and its rivers. Liddy Barlow and Cora Weiland (Director of Christian Education at First Lutheran) were the camp directors. What follows is a photo story of the start of the afternoon's adventure. Only a little pizza left (no surprise) and then a gathering together for instructions about getting from the church to Station Square and what to expect when they get to their destination ![]() Walking to the T Station, waiting for a train, paying the fare
